That's it? Just a run... hmm maybe now I can see if I really can run faster than Joe and Steve-O. But that would mean they would have to show up for the workout... none of this treadmill at home timed 5k either Joe!

That's not "Just It". You are timed remember. So everyone better be out there busting their butts to get the best time possible. NO casual jogging. And NO TREADMILLS. Get out and do the real thing people.

I came off "the porch" when I went to my first boot camp didn't I? Now I look forward to truck pulls/pushes!!

If that isn't good then how about when I suited up in armor, picked up a rattan sword, a shield and decided to fight (medieval) heavy weapons... that took courage to get off the safety of the porch :)
